✩#7: 10 Year Challenge✩

I’ve been seeing this challenge go around for a bit and thought I should try it. I know I’m a little late because I had the hardest time finding a photo. Not even just having a decent one, but just any that were from 10 years ago.

Before, you would never see a photo of me. Unless it was for a special event and people were taking group photos. I just hated how I used to look before Gyaru. I was trying so hard to find a style that suited me. I went from regular 80s/90s fashion to being a tomboy for a long while. Until I discovered Jfashion and got into Lolita before finally discovering Gyaru. And crazily enough, it wasn’t until Gyaru that I finally felt I have arrived where I wanted to be.

This one is at least 10 years old and when I got my first dramatic haircut.

Ever since I was little, I always had long hair. But I wanted to try short hair at least once. It was cute and fun while it lasted but when I washed my hair, it turned into a puffball. This was well before learning how to properly do my hair too. So, I did what I could until it grew out again.

Fast forward to today.

I’m thinner, happier and in love with my makeup and clothes. I feel most comfortable in Gyaru. I also love the fact that there are so many substyles in Gyaru that I can have different looks for my different moods each day. Plus I think my fiancee appreciates it too since I feel my best in it.

I’d say my glow up is pretty successful! And I do most of my looks for work so I get lots of practice.

  1. ♥♥♥ I’m so happy to hear that you’re not only comfortable, but confident in your body and style! It makes my heart so warm to see you happy~~ I agree with you about gyaru having substyles; it’s so much fun to express yourself through different looks. Ps. you look AMAZING in kuro style ( ´з`)ノ⌒☆
